Ludlow Schools Adopt Three New Math Programs for All Grade Levels

Ludlow School Committee unanimously adopts three new math curricula covering all grades, starting in September. The board voted 5-0 Tuesday to approve I-Ready Classroom Mathematics for grades K through 5, Amplify Desmos Math for grades 6 through 8, and McGraw-Hill Reveal Mathematics for high school algebra and geometry courses, replacing programs in use since approximately 2014. Assistant Superintendent Dr.
Brandt, who led the selection process using the state's Implement Massachusetts framework, said the adoption eliminates MAP testing at the elementary level, replacing it with I-Ready's own diagnostic given three times per year. The committee also heard that Technology Director Mike Asoph has built a data sync between the district's Aspen student information system and LPVEC's Traversa routing software, a step district officials called a major advance in reducing bus route errors. Chairperson closed the meeting by flagging that Town Meeting took no action on a track and field maintenance fund, warning the district's existing deficit leaves it unable to absorb maintenance costs without town support.
