Ludlow School Committee unanimously appoints Jacqueline Berryman as director of special education.
School Committee · Meeting of July 7, 2026
Ludlow School Committee unanimously appoints Jacqueline Berryman as director of special education. The committee voted without opposition at a July 7 special session called solely for the appointment, acting on the recommendation of new Superintendent Sharon Cornier, who was attending her first official meeting in the role. Berryman, most recently the special education coordinator for Chicopee Public Schools, brings more than 18 years of experience as both a teacher and administrator, holds a master's degree from Westfield State University, and is licensed by Massachusetts as a professional special education administrator.
Cornier told the committee that Berryman "distinguished herself as a thoughtful, student-centered leader with a deep understanding of special education law" across a multi-stage hiring process that included two panel interviews and a community meet-and-greet. The committee's next regular meeting is scheduled for July 21.
