Ludlow Board of Health Elects New Chair, Reappoints Animal Inspector
Board of Health · Meeting of April 6, 2026
Ludlow Board of Health elects new chair and reappoints animal inspector for fourth straight year. At the April 6 meeting, the board unanimously elected Lauren, a member since October, as chair after the previous chair said she had decided not to seek another term following "a good four-year run." Tonya was elected secretary. The board also unanimously reappointed animal control officer Octavia Anderson as animal inspector under the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources, a role she has held for four consecutive years; the director noted Anderson had pre-signed the notarized paperwork because the MDAR deadline fell on April 1, before the board could meet.
The director reported the department now hosts three interns, with a fourth joining in May, and confirmed a sharps container purchase funded through opioid settlement money was headed to the Select Board the following day. The community health advocate position, a full-time opening, has received an accepted offer pending a signed letter.
