Board of Health approves septic plan, food truck permit revocation

LUDLOW — Board of Health unanimously revokes Madd Eatz Mobile Food truck permit. Health Director Paulina Matusik cited repeated priority and critical violations of the Massachusetts food code discovered during April inspections, including failures to correct violations specified in a conditional permit issued in January; Madd Eatz may reapply in 2027. The Board also unanimously approved a septic system local upgrade for 464 Poole Street reducing the required well-distance requirement from one hundred feet to seventy-six feet, and unanimously voted to move forward with a proposed local health food establishment regulation and schedule a public hearing, designed to permit and inspect residential kitchens selling prepackaged foods at temporary events in Ludlow.
The Board heard discussion of the Health Department's decision to terminate the footcare program effective July 1, 2026, citing lack of medical director oversight, clinical specialization requirements, and operational costs exceeding $24,000 since December 2025.
