Conservation Commission · Meeting of October 7, 2026

LUDLOW — The Ludlow Conservation Commission approved a Notice of Intent for a new West Street home and received warnings about Eversource's proposed WT11 transmission corridor project. Engineer Mike Pickers presented the Sprega family's single-family home design, which the board approved under MassDEP file 2070685 along with a standard order of conditions. Members also voted to release a 2,221-square-foot parcel on Munsing Street from Chapter 61B and issued certificates of compliance for three older projects, including a 1987 filing at 67 Brookhaven Drive.

Shutesbury Planning Board member Jeff Weston and resident-group representative Michael DeChiara submitted letters warning the Eversource project could permanently remove "278 acres of forest and alter 371 acres of land" across 11 towns, with a final environmental report due to the state in December 2026. The board also scheduled an October 17 site inspection to review a wetland-encroachment complaint on Moore Street, an issue members said echoes a dispute "decades ago" involving the same construction company.
