Ludlow Public Schools announced Oct. 30 that it is sharing online safety resources with families in recognition of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

The district's Information Technology Department said it is continually enhancing network and systems security to protect student information. To help families do the same at home, the schools distributed a Family Cyber Safety Guide.

The guide highlights three everyday habits: talking openly about online activity, protecting private details and setting simple screen rules. It also includes a home tech checklist covering two-step verification, securing home Wi-Fi and using hard-to-guess passphrases.

The guide points parents to several outside resources, including NetSmartz, ConnectSafely and the Federal Trade Commission's Protect Kids Online guide.

Ludlow Public Schools asked families to review the flyer together, saying in the release, "Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our school community safe both online and off!"
