LUDLOW — Select Board reorganizes after election, approves Housing Production Plan update. William Rosenblum was elected Chair by 4-1 vote, and Anthony Alves was unanimously chosen Vice Chair. Housing consultant Karen Sunnarborg presented Ludlow's updated Housing Production Plan, noting the town has 307 subsidized units (3.51 percent of 8,720 year-round units) compared to the state's 10 percent target; pending projects at Fuller Street and Mill 8 will bring the inventory to approximately 4 percent.
The board approved the plan unanimously. Separately, the board tabled its FY27 budget discussion pending clarity on free-cash certification and explored funding scenarios for critical pond maintenance at Minechoag, where recent fish kill and weed overgrowth demand urgent treatment. Town Administrator Marc Strange reported several budget adjustments, including a new employee services contract with a modest increase and higher bids for library cleaning and veterinary services.
