Select Board hires Michelle White as Town Accountant after interview process.

Select Board · Meeting of May 19, 2026

LUDLOW — The Ludlow Select Board voted unanimously to hire Michelle White, a 16-year school finance veteran, as Town Accountant, citing her proficiency with Munis software, free cash certification expertise, and hands-on accounting experience. Three public hearings approved an Eversource utility pole installation at 35 Pinewood Drive, Casa Pizzeria's interior expansion at 325 East Street contingent on further reviews, and declared two loose dogs at 26 Wilson Street a nuisance, requiring licensing and containment within two weeks. The board approved an inter-municipal agreement with Palmer for shared veterans services that will generate $12,000 annually and allow Ludlow to convert its Veterans Service Officer to full-time status.

A review of FY26 free cash certification revealed approximately three million dollars in shortfalls attributed to uncollected real estate taxes and outstanding grant reimbursements, prompting board discussion of cost-containment measures for the coming fiscal year.
