Ludlow Select Board authorizes $877,000 community development grant application. The board unanimously approved a Pioneer Valley Planning Commission submission to the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Living Communities for Community Development Block Grant funding covering Robert Street neighborhood infrastructure design ($250,000), housing rehabilitation for six units, and domestic violence prevention services ($40,000 through Alianza). The board also unanimously supported a congressional earmark application for a phased $2.95 million Veterans Park rehabilitation project, with letters of support already filed by Representative Aaron Saunders and the Ludlow Cultural Council.
Town Administrator Marc Strange confirmed the maximum statewide CDBG grant is $950,000 annually, with Ludlow scoring a five out of ten on the state's need index.
