Planning Board advances Housing Production Plan toward state approval
Planning Board · Meeting of February 12, 2026
LUDLOW — Planning Board continues Housing Production Plan review. Consultant Karen Sunnarborg presented the draft plan to update Ludlow's housing strategy, which expired in 2018. The town has 8,720 year-round housing units with 307 affordable units (3.51 percent) on the Subsidized Housing Inventory; that percentage will climb to approximately 4 percent with approved additions.
The board discussed strategies including municipal affordable housing trusts, starter home zoning, and public-property redevelopment, with emphasis that adoption is merely the first step in implementation. Next steps require Planning Board and Select Board approval before submission to the state for certification.
