Library trustees approve labor-grade changes for two professional positions

LUDLOW — The Board of Library Trustees of Hubbard Memorial Library voted unanimously to reclassify the Youth Services librarian position from M3 to M2 grade and the Reference and Technology librarian position from M2 to M3 grade. Library Director Melissa Dickson-Street reported December saw 2,552 in-person visits and the calendar year 2025 totaled 37,138 visits, with 5,259 items circulated and 1,915 combined adult and juvenile program attendees. An emergency sprinkler system compressor failure in December cost $1,630; Superintendent Dave Ritchie is gathering estimates for replacement as two companies determined the current unit cannot be repaired.
The board voted unanimously to close the library on April 8 for National Library Worker's Day as a wellness and professional development day.
