Finance Committee defers municipal spending review, focuses on FY27 budget options.
Finance Committee · Meeting of February 4, 2026
Ludlow Finance Committee discusses FY27 budget with $222,085 in excess levy capacity. The committee, led by chair Tony Sanches with Town Administrator Marc Strange and Finance Director Cheryl Allen, identified higher state aid and declining health insurance costs as sources of the variance but noted the school budget still faces roughly $600,000 in deficit requiring cuts. Bill Nicoll and Mike Kelliher recommended the School Committee hold off voting for another week due to multiple budget versions.
Strange will present an updated budget on March 3 including two capital articles, a public safety complex and Vets Park improvements totaling approximately $7.5 million.
