Ludlow Capital Planning Committee approves nine capital projects totaling $2.5 million. The committee unanimously backed Whitney Park playground recreation ($830,108), Fire Department ladder truck and ambulance payments ($428,614), school kitchen and exterior wall work ($503,000), DPW vehicles and equipment ($357,031), and police patrol vehicles ($155,000), among others. The committee rejected a $55,000 Ford Interceptor for Animal Control, voting 0-5 against it.
Total capital requests of $2,423,239 would consume $5,460,154 in free cash, leaving $1,039,846 in reserve ahead of expected $6.5 million free cash certification.
