LUDLOW — Library Trustees correct wellness day closure date. The Board of Library Trustees voted unanimously to rescind January's vote closing the library April 8 and instead approved closure April 14 for National Library Workers Day and Employee Wellness Day. Director Melissa Rickson reported January 2026 activity: 5,378 items circulated, 338 computer sessions, and 727 Wi-Fi connections.
Snow and ice fell from the main entrance awning onto a visitor February 9; a roof rake was purchased and town officials notified. New Reference & Technology Librarian Megan Charter began January 29, with Para-librarian Rachel Smythe hired internally and Carla Thompson set to begin March 2.
